Sonnet 106

Guys! One word for who's  wasted by cruel time:

Laydees and men - they used to call us "wights",

I've stolen this and more from William's rhyme,

Remember chivalrous chastity, knights?

Say them out loud how you feel conveys best

Romantic fool notions clouding your brow:

Stuff stiff parchment and scratchy quill  expressed

Is quite emotionally obsolete now.

Ignore those antiquity prophesies!

We conjure our means of prefiguring

(Mostly ourselves) through technology's eyes,

Longhand's as old as lost  lovesongs whales sing .

For we which now behold these present dayes,

Choose handheld eyes to frame and edit praise.
