Sonnet 30

#midwifecrisis - that's my big thought

For those who can't reconcile past

Effects of stay at home life they sought

With what Sheryl* says is their career waste;

It's unfeminist to go with the flow,

Same bedtime stories night after night,

There's no-one to blame but you for your woe -

Making COO now's right out of  sight.

Economically active - that's a foregone,

 No pensions left for us when it's all o'er,

Tending kids is a first to third world move,

We can't go back to mumsy like before.

    Who's time to be mother; whore; wife and friend

    When our opportunities have no end?
