Sonnet 41

I think it's some ghost in you that commits

Adultery,  not just of the living  heart -

You're at it like a tomcat as befits

Artistic licence for the sake of art

Just one look from the ladies and they've won

You for the night, no-one's harassed, assailed,

Spot the legacy from father to son:

 Old genetic  heraldry has prevailed.

So shoot me - I've projected a forebear

Dad on you I didn't know in his youth,

But I know him now and god he's all there -

Inherited energy's living truth.

    It's a double whammy on me by thee;

    You're middle man for him through you to me.
